The museum will be hosting a Quilt Show: MFA Fabric of a Nation: American Quilt Stories beginning October 10, 2021 through January 17, 2022. This show will be very inclusive with quilters voices often not seen in national shows together such as Bisa Butler, Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi as well as early quilters such as Mary Fifield Adams (1694-1748) and Harriet Powers.
Of special treat will be the showing of two quilts by Harriet Powers: Pictural Quilt and Bible Quilt. This will be the first time that these two quilts will be shown side by side.

Watertown Faire on the Square 2021

The weather forecast said rain and there wasn't a drop!
QC had a second booth at a Watertown event on September 25 at Faire on the Square. Our colorful quilts certainly stood out and garnered lots of interest and compliments. QC members talked to lots of people and handed out materials about QC, the HATCH classes as well as the upcoming lecture and exhibit at the Library.
Thank you QC members Athila Jarrah, Pam Nourse (a new member as of September!), Deborah Rocha and Karen Hohler.

Watertown Faire on the Square 2019

The Membership Growth Committee (MGC) made its first outreach to a wider community at the Watertown Faire on Saturday, September 28. Members of the committee showed their quilts and womaned the table for the day, We spoke to many people from Watertwon and St. James Church who had no idea we existed! We gave out postcards and member applications. The biggest surprise of the day was the donation of two 1920's era twin size wedding ring quilts for the QC auction in April 2020. Thank you to Watertown resident Cynthia Taylor.

A Collaboration between Quilters' Connection and Old North Church

  • Quilting Workshops
    Saturday, March 9 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
    Sunday, March 24 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
    193 Salem Street, Boston, MA

Learn piecing and contribute to a community-created quilt! Before there were sewing machines, quilts were made by hand. Talented members of a local guild, Quilters' Connection, will be on hand with pre-cut squares to show you how to begin piecing a quilt by hand. Your hand-sewn pieces will be combined with others to create larger quilts. Members of Quilters' Connection will quilt, bind, and finish them before they are donated to local charities in the Boston area. Participation in this workshop is automatically included with admission to Old North Church & Historic Site. It will be held in Patriots Corner, where the current Piece-ful Voices exhibition is on view.

On Saturday February 9th, visitors at Old North Church try their hands at piecing.
